All our clinicians adhere to the rules governing the profession under strict guidance from the General Dental Council. We have a large dedicated and caring team of 14 staff. Joy has been with us since the 1970s - making sure our patients see a familiar face throughout each family generation.

    Cosmetic dentistry with particular interest in porcelain veneers, occlusion & cosmetic restorative treatments, dermal fillers and Wrinkle Reduction treatment. John grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Guys Dental School in London in 1996. He worked in Beckenham before joining Crescent Lodge Dental Practice in 1998.

    In May 2004 Dr Swift and Dr Larsson bought the practice from Dr Brown.In 2007 John went on to be the sole owner. John believes that all patients should receive the service and standard of dentistry that he would like and expect to receive himself.

  • Styliani (Stella) Kourkouta DipDS, MMedSci, FDS RCS, MRD RCS, FDS (Rest Dent) RCS Eng
    Specialist Periodontist

    Specialist in Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics. Dr Kourkouta followed her undergraduate studies at The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, with her Master of Medical Science in Restorative Dentistry at The University of Sheffield, where her thesis was on gingival response to porcelain veneers.

    Dr Kourkouta then worked and trained in a combination of university and National Health Service positions at general and dental hospitals throughout the UK in the fields of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry (Periodontology, fixed and removable Prosthodontics and Endodontics).

    Dr Kourkouta became a Fellow and Member of The Royal College of Surgeons of England and entered the General Dental Council Specialist Register in Periodontics and Prosthodontics in 2000. She completed her training in Restorative Dentistry at The Eastman Dental Hospital, London as a Specialist Registrar/Honorary Lecturer (2000-06), and entered The Restorative and Endodontic Specialist Register in 2006. She received the George Cross Fellowship Award through The British Society of Periodontology for her elective study on Implant Therapy In Compromised Sites at The University of Southern California and University of California in Los Angeles, USA (2006).

    Dr Kourkouta successfully completed the ITI research scholarship programme, awarded through The International Team for Implantology at The University of North Carolina, USA (2006-07), where she investigated the dimensions of soft and hard tissues in relation to the presence of papillae between implants in the aesthetic zone and patient satisfaction. She is a member of the British Society of Periodontology, British Dental Association and American Academy of Osseointegration. She joined Crescent Lodge as a Specialist Periodontist in 2008. Based on her high standard of periodontal services in the practice and excellent clinical outcomes, she won the “Highly Commended” Award in the category Best Periodontic Practice at the Private Dentistry Awards (London, 2012).

  • Lars Franke DDS

    Root Canal Treatment, Periodontal Treatment, Dentures with precision attachments. Lars was born in Germany and graduated from Mainz faculty of Dentisty in 2000. He then worked in Germany for 2 years before coming to England in 2003 and joined the practice in 2004.

    Lars has continued his education focusing on root canal treatments under a microscope and utilizes the latest techiniques associated with this field.

    In his leisure time Lars enjoys all sports especially Cycling and Running.

  • Dino Birkenstock DDS

    Dino grew up in Dinslaken, Germany and graduated with a PhD in dentistry at Rostock University in 1999. He then worked in a private practice in Munich for 5 years before moving to London in 2005 where he joined the Crescent Lodge Dental Practice. Dino is continuing further education in orthdontics and cosmetic dentistry…

    With particular interest in early functional orthopeadic treatment for children and fixed orthodontic treatment for teenagers and adults. He is a qualified Invisalign practitioner and has been awarded silver status by Invisalign in the past.

    Over the last decade Dino has undertaken comprehensive training with world renowned dentists and orthodontists from the UK, the USA and Australia in the areas of orthopaedics, orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. He recently graduated from the Derek Mahony Orthodontic UK residency:

    A 3-year post-graduate programme for a selected group of general dentists, widely considered to be the most comprehensive orthodontic course of its kind.

    Dino is an active member of the following bodies: International Association for Orthodontics, IAO and the International Functional Association, IFUNA.

    Dino now works alongside John in facial aesthetics, offering wrinkle reduction treatments and dermal fillers.

    In his spare time Dino enjoys travelling, sports and good food.

    Andreas Jahnigen comes from a long line of dentists and physicians. He currently holds a Diploma in Implantology and a Masters in Oral Implantology from the prestigious German Association of Implantology (DGI, Germany), which is the largest implantology organisation in the world. He received his degree in dentistry from the Medical University of Hanover in Germany in 2001. He then practiced with his father, Dr Lutz Jahnigen, a renowned dental implant surgeon (who also had a background in medicine) and had the good fortune to observe his father at work.

    Andreas went on to become a partner at Medeco, one of the leading implant practices in Postdamer Platz - known as the Kensington of Berlin. While there, Andreas expanded his medical qualifications by obtaining the officially recognized German Heilpraktiker degree, a three year program which qualified him as a holistic practitioner in natural medicine.

    Andreas came in 2005 to London with a focus on dental implantology. He cofounded the Camden Dental Implant Centre alongside Dr. Martin Gilbert and Dr. Danny Temkin, his mentor. He has been placing implants there on weekends since 2005 and will continue to do so.

    Andreas also maintains a practice and is an associate in the prestigious Institut Europeen du Visage in Paris since 2010, run by Frances’ leading implantologist Dr Anne Benhamou, http://www.institut-europeen-du-visage.com. He has been working between London and Paris for the last 6 years and is now currently in process of working mainly in London.

    Andreas’ postgraduate implant training includes the Certificate in Advanced Surgical and Prosthodontic Implantology from Boston USA.

    He actively pursues specialised training courses around the world and is a member of the German Society of Implantology where he is currently completing his Master of Science (MSc) in Periondontology.

    Andreas has also received specialised training in major sinus lifts under the auspices of Dr Ziv Masur. In addition, he has participated at the IMCI 2008 International Masters’ Course on Implantology in Paris, France. He is currently placing implants principally from Straumann, Xive (Dentsply) and Alpha-Bio (NobelBiocare).

    Andreas is a great lover of aesthetics and carries within his practice a highly sensitive approach to all of his clients. He strives to bring his patients the most cutting edge dental knowledge in a caring, safe and professional environment.

    Andreas is also an accomplished pianist and tennis player. He speaks fluent English, German and French. He is passionate about understanding the ideology and art of other cultures.

    Dr Omar Ahmed has many years of general dental practice experience in London.  Over the years, through his work in practice, regular participation national and international conferences, he has gained a broad continuing professional development education. He is committed to post graduate training, regularly attending courses both with British and international speakers, and at which he actively contributes to, in the lively discussions that inevitably follow. He has particular special interests in tooth whitening, orthodontics (including Invisalign, Six Month Smiles, Inman Aligner & Clear braces), veneers, crown & bridgework, gum disease, prevention of dental disease, improving oral health and cosmetic dentistry.

    Throughout the years, Omar has naturally had the privilege of meeting patients from all walks of life. He prides himself in being a ‘family man’, at work he enjoys nothing more than looking after the oral health of each member of a patient’s family and being part of the community. He feels a great sense of achievement in seeing the ‘fruits of his labour of love’, in relation to the wonderful teeth and healthy gums that he has helped treat, shape and then maintain. He has treated the teeth and gums of rising stars that have grown to be huge celebrities or figures in society.     Passionate about his job, Dr. Christian Pintado is a perfectionist, he uses dental photography and video to support his work which helps plan, study, prepare and undertake aesthetic cases and also likes useful tools to explain and show procedures and final results to patients.

    Enthusiastic and caring with his patients, he is always looking for the best way to restore the integrity of the full mouth and giving the best options to every patient always thinking in the patient’s needs. He believes that a beautiful and healthy smile can increase the confidence and the quality of life of people.

    Dr. Christian Pintado was born in Madrid. He obtained his dental degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and graduated from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in 1997 in Spain. He first came to London in 1999 where he worked for almost 2 years. There after he returned to Madrid to continue working in Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics within the private sector. During this time, he increased his scope of practice by learning Periodontics to encompass perio and mucogingival microsurgeries within his aesthetic work.

    He has, and continues attending courses and congresses in order to widen his knowledge and remain up-to-date, relating to other disciplines including oral surgery, implantology, rehabilitation, oral micro-fillers and even dental marketing.

    He also holds a Masters Degree in Endodontics and Restorative-Cosmetic Dentistry from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid and is a Graduate in Appraisal and Evaluation of Dental Damages for the Legal Medicine School of Universidad Complutense of Madrid. He worked as a Dental Expert during many years compiling Dental Expert Reports and giving expert evidence in cases involving dental malpractice and evaluation of injuries caused to patients, including giving evidence in court.

    He was a team speaker about Legal Aspects in Dentistry in the Spanish Surgical Course DEIPA (www.deipadental.com) from 2012-14.

    He is a member of the British Dental Association (BDA), British Endodontic Society (BES), British Academy of Restorative Dentistry (BARD) and the Spanish Association of Aesthetics and Prosthesis (SEPES), Spanish Association of Endodontics (AEDE), Spanish Association of Periodontology and Osteointegration (SEPA), Spanish Association of Conservative Dentistry (SEOC), Spanish Association of Oral Surgery (SECIB). He has also been a member of the Ethical Commission of the Dental Council of Madrid (www.coem.org.es) since 2012 and he continues collaborating as a member of the Dental Professional Commission in the COEM once a month.

    In his private life, Christian is a lover of sport to maintain a healthy lifestyle and enjoys cross-fit, calisthenics, running, swimming and biking. He also likes all aspects of design and photography.

    Sorcha grew up in Cork, Ireland and graduated from the Eastman dental institute as a dental hygienist in 1995. She worked in both a general and specialist periodontal and restorative practice in London before joining Crescent Lodge in 2006…

    Over the years Sorcha has developed a strong bond with her loyal patient list and particularly enjoys helping them improve their dental health and smile. Being part of a great team, working towards that goal gives her a lot of satisfaction. Sorcha keeps up to date with regular courses in all aspects of dentistry and dental hygiene, particularly treatment of gum problems. In her spare time Sorcha enjoys eating out, running and spending time with friends and family here and in Ireland.

    Kasia (Katarzyna) was born in Poland, where she finished Medical school with Dental hygienist degree. After graduation she work for 5 years one of the best multi - special Dental Clinic in her home town…

    During that period she also graduates with master degree from Finance and banking at Economic University in Katowice. But Dental Hygienist career was always in her heart.

    In 2005 she moved to UK. For first 1.5 years she was getting UK experience in few places like J. G.Plummer and Associates Norwich and Eline Orthodontist Practice in Harley Street, till finally joint the CLPD in June 2006.

    For last 8 years she continues upgrading her professional skills and practical knowledge by completing regular courses in the UK and Poland: like Dental hygienist refreshing course in Bristol, and attending to regular conferences like Europerio7 in Vienna 2012 also planning to attend Europerio 8 in London 2015.

    In hear spear time she travel visited 27 counties so far, love cooking, reading historical books and pilate’s.

    Marcia is originally from Brazil, where she took her first steps into dentistry 20 years ago. She has a deep knowledge of the dental industry – clinical & admin – after working in several sectors of dental practices back in Brazil…

    and especially in the UK.

    Her passion & professional drive towards oral preventive care & treatment of gum disease made her pursue and obtain an Oral Hygiene Bachelor’s Degree qualification at ISAVE – Superior Health Institute of the Alto Ave, Portugal, in 2011.

    Marcia takes pride in being both thorough & gentle with therapy provided by her, as well as putting nervous patients at ease throughout their hygiene experience, believing that good communication is essential at all times. She also enjoys spending time with her patients, encouraging and motivating them to improve and achieve better oral health at home.

    In her spare time she loves cinema, learning new languages & other cultures, travelling with her husband and bike riding.

    Besides Portuguese & English, Marcia is also fluent in Spanish.

    This led to her present status of following a career as a hygienist.

    She qualified as a hygienist in 2009 and has since based her working philosophy on:

    • Empathetic approach to patient management
    • Effective and comprehensible communication

    These are the four pillars that lay the foundation on which she hopes to build her career. Having experienced a variety of dental treatments herself, she feels she can empathise with the anxious patient with sensitive teeth.
