Dental Hygienist Clapham, London

At Crescent Lodge Dental Practice in Clapham, we believe dental hygiene to be one of the most important services we provide. Our team of hygienists and dental nurses is committed to providing high-quality dentistry to maintain healthy teeth and gums. To make things more convenient for you, we offer back-to-back dental health assessments and hygiene appointments, meaning you’ll receive thorough care from both dental professionals in a single check-up.
You’re welcome to visit our hygiene team as often as you like, without seeing a dentist first. You also don’t have to be a registered patient at the dental clinic to visit our hygienists.
Our dental services are available from 8.00 am – 7.30 pm every weekday and from 9 am – 4.30 pm on Saturdays. So that you can arrange regular visits at your convenience, we usually have 2 or 3 hygienists working at any one time.

Book AppointmentHygiene appointments are integral to maintaining good oral health and keeping your teeth and gums clean. Your appointments will also allow us to treat the different stages of gum and periodontal disease and prevent any other issues before they develop further.
It depends on the individual; some people are more prone to gum disease, and some people find it harder to keep their teeth clean. If you have good oral hygiene, we recommend booking an appointment with your dentist in Clapham every 6 months, or if you are more prone, we recommend dental hygiene visits every 3 months.
Gum disease is very common in the UK, but it often goes unnoticed until it becomes severe. Early signs to look out for include a swollen and red appearance to the gums, and tenderness and bleeding while brushing. Another common sign is the receding of the gum line, and the feeling that your teeth are becoming looser.
At Crescent Lodge Dental Practice in London, complete dental care doesn’t usually cause any pain and is often minimally invasive, but some patients experience some sensitivity.
If you experience sensitivity, be sure to let our hygienists know, and they will try alternative methods that may reduce discomfort.
In extreme cases, or where deeper professional cleaning is required, we can offer a topical anaesthetic that will numb the area and make treatment more comfortable.
