Art exhibitions delight Crescent Lodge patients

Our art exhibition is an ever-changing feature at Crescent Lodge Dental Practice. Over the past ten years, we’ve been delighted to display the works of some well-known painters, printmakers and photographers.

The current must-see exhibition is of Jacqui McLennan’s stunning gouache paintings, prints and ceramics.

Jacqui studied at the Royal College of Art in London before embarking on an artistic career that has seen her model for Zandra Rhodes and Sylvia Ayton in the 1960s, design furnishings and interiors for the QE2 and Orient Express, design knitwear for Browns of London, create banner designs for London’s South Bank and much, much more.

As well as freelancing, Jacqui has taught extensively at Middlesex University, the Royal College of Art, and other art colleges throughout the country. She recently stopped teaching to concentrate on designing and her own artwork.

You can read more about Jacqui’s work and inspiration on her website. We’d seriously recommend that you pop into the practice to see her exhibition in person while you can. Her creations make stunning additions to Crescent Lodge.

We typically exhibit a collection for eight months within the practice on the first floor stairs and within the basement level for patients to enjoy. If you see a piece that you particularly love, you can usually buy the works on display.

Some of our recent exhibitions have included work from Andrew Bell, Holly Frean, and Tony Rickaby, who was our first ever featured artist and continues to oversee all of the exhibitions and liaise with the artists. Our next exhibition will feature pieces created by the incredibly talented Ray Carpenter.

We think it’s fairly uncommon for dental practices to exhibit artwork in this way but we’ve always found that the exhibitions lift people’s moods and make a fantastic talking point. They have also helped bring us closer to the local community, as well as the artistic community at large, and set Crescent Lodge apart with a lovely touch of colour and creativity.
