How Long Do Lip Fillers Last?

As well as our high-quality dentistry – recognised by patients in and around Clapham Common – we also offer some bespoke facial aesthetics treatments. These include lip fillers, which are a great way to enhance your lips and enhance your smile at the same time. Here, we’ll go over some common questions about lip fillers, so you can decide whether this treatment is right for you and your lips.

Why have lip fillers?

Our aesthetic patients love how they can offer shape, definition, volume and more. A few well-placed injections can easily sculpt and enhance, ideal for those with asymmetrical lips or a thin smile. As well as enhancing your appearance, lip fillers can work wonders for your confidence and self-esteem, too.

How does the treatment work?

You’ll first need to book a lip filler consultation here at our Clapham Common clinic. Then, our experts will assess your skin and make recommendations. If lip fillers are the right option for your unique case, we’ll talk you through the process in more detail and arrange an appointment at a time and date to suit you. If we don’t think lip fillers are suitable, we might be able to suggest other ways to help enhance your smile, such as our smile makeover. It all depends on what results you’re looking for.

Does the treatment hurt?

No, this treatment shouldn’t hurt, as we use a numbing agent to minimise discomfort in the area. Afterwards, you might have some mild swelling or bruising on & around your lips, as is common with any type of injection. We can give recommendations on pain relief to help minimise this, as well as other aftercare tips (such as things to avoid in those early days). It’s worth bearing in mind, though, that everyone tolerates pain differently and what might not affect one person might cause discomfort in others.

What can I expect from my results?

Results may be present immediately, or may take a few days to develop – and, of course, swelling may temporarily affect the treated area. If you find you’re unhappy with your lip fillers, it might be possible to increase your ml size or even dissolve treatment areas. Just talk to our friendly team in Clapham about your options. We do recommend waiting a few days after treatment though, just for the full effects to settle.
