Restore your smile with dental implants
Dental implants are a great option when you have gaps from missing teeth. Fixed in place, you’ll be able to do everything you could with your natural teeth – talk, eat and smile – so you’ll no longer worry about hiding your mouth, changing your diet or limiting your lifestyle.
The benefits of implants
There are huge benefits to having dental implants. Durable and long-lasting, they look, feel and act like natural teeth – and they won’t change the look of your face. They can help improve the look of your smile and will likely give you a confidence boost, too.
A guide to implants
All dental implants are made of 3 parts – a titanium screw, a connecting part and a crown. However, treatment options depend on how many teeth you’re replacing and how quickly you want to see results.
Fast tooth implants – quick and effective, these temporary teeth are matched to your natural ones for a seamless smile, with all parts fitted in one session
Single dental implants – as above, but these require a recovery period before fitting the crown (outer part) and are more permanent
Implant dentures – a great alternative to traditional dentures, these are permanently fixed, so won’t move around in your mouth. They’re recommended for when you have multiple teeth missing in one area of your mouth
A guide to your treatment
Here at Crescent Lodge Dental Practice in London, we offer a safe procedure with a high success rate. Here’s what you can expect when you come to us.
Step 1 – free consultation
After a quick suitability assessment, which involves an examination of your mouth and questions about your medical history, you’ll find out how the implants work and their benefits, and have the chance to ask any questions.
Step 2 – dental implant treatment planning
Using X-rays, impressions of your teeth and the results of your suitability assessment, we’ll recommend an implant treatment plan to suit you, going over the right position for each tooth and the amount of bone used in the implants.
3 – Placing your implants
This involves a small surgical procedure where an incision is made in your gums, and then a hole is made in the bone with a specialised drill. The screw of the tooth is then placed before the hole is stitched. For fast implants, all tooth parts are fitted during this session. For regular dental implants, a recovery period is needed.
Step 4 – Healing
Implants take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months to fuse to your bone. As with natural teeth, you’ll need to brush and floss your implants and have regular check-ups.
