The Teeth Whitening Questions You’re Too Scared to Ask

Teeth whitening: it’s been available for decades, but there are so many myths surrounding it that people are put off pursuing treatment. Here at Crescent Lodge Dental Practice in Clapham, we’re one of the largest dental practices in London, with a skilled and enthusiastic team who are dedicated to helping improve your smile – and confidence. We’ve carried out more teeth whitening procedures than we can count and are determined to put your concerns to rest – so, in this post, we’ll go through those burning teeth whitening questions that you were too scared to ask.

Does it hurt?

We offer two types of teeth whitening here at Crescent Lodge Dental Practice, London. One is an in-surgery treatment, where you’ll have moulds taken of your teeth, custom-made whitening trays created, and then a laser session at our practice to lift your smile. We also offer an at-home treatment where you’ll have the moulds taken at our surgery, but then do the whitening yourself with a special gel. Both treatments use Zoom!, which many find to be painless. Some people do report slight sensitivity after treatment, but this should pass.

Is it expensive?

In our opinion, no. Teeth whitening offers fantastic value for money as you’ll get to enjoy your newly whitened smile for several years. At Crescent Lodge Dental Practice here in Clapham, we’re competitively priced and aim to see our patients as quickly as possible, delivering results you’re bound to love.

Is it risky?

If you’re new to teeth whitening, we recommend choosing our in-surgery option. That way, you can be sure a professional handles every aspect of your treatment, which will help to minimise any risks of sensitivity or possible damage to the gums.

Does it work on false teeth?

Unfortunately, the treatment can’t lift the colour of false teeth, whether you have dentures, veneers, fillings or crowns. So, any false tooth (or teeth) in a prominent position may need looking at to ensure they blend in seamlessly with your sparkling, whitened smile. We’ll be able to discuss this with you at the consultation stage of your teeth whitening treatment.

What if I’m unhappy with my results?

Whatever treatment you have with us, we want you to love your results and love your new smile. So, if you’re not completely satisfied with your teeth whitening treatment, we ask you to come in and talk to us so we can put things right.

To book in for your teeth whitening, all you need to do is visit our contact page and get in touch with us today at our Clapham dental practice.
