The benefits of Invisalign

If you’re looking for better career prospects, fixing your smile might be a good starting point. This might sound like a wacky fact made up by dentists, but in fact Forbes magazine is just one of many publications that has, in the past, stated that employers have confessed to having their opinions swayed by an attractive smile. Whether you’re looking to get hired or chosen for promotion, it seems that well-aligned teeth could help you achieve that. You might benefit from Invisalign…

This is a common celebrity choice of alignment tool and worldwide, given that Invisalign have just celebrated fitting their 6 millionth customer, there’s a lot of satisfied people out there with newly beautiful smiles. In comparison to traditional, fixed braces, the Invisalign system is a lot more modern, convenient and discreet, but we’d rather you were the judge of which braces will best suit you:

Traditional braces versus Invisalign braces

Traditional braces systems consist of brackets and wires. The brackets are the parts which are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth and then the wires are threaded through them. When you have them adjusted to further the journey of your teeth towards their final positions, the wire is tightened.

Disadvantages of this set up is how prominent the braces look in your mouth. There’s no hiding the fact that you’re having your teeth aligned. They do have a tendency to trap food and they make brushing your teeth quite a chore, given there’s so much equipment between the brush and your teeth. However, they are reliable, cost-effective and they fix a multitude of orthodontic issues.

Invisalign braces, on the other hand, are much more discreet. They consist of thin, translucent trays that fit over the top and bottom rows of your teeth. They’re custom-made for your mouth so they’re  comfortable to wear. Once they’re in place, they’re a lot harder to detect than fixed braces. When you go out with friends for a meal, they’ll have no idea you’re receiving orthodontic treatment, because you’ll have removed the trays to eat. The trays will also be removed when you brush your teeth, ensuring you can keep your teeth just as clean us usual throughout the treatment period.

As the trays can’t be adjusted, in order to further the journey of your teeth, you’ll need to have a new set of trays fitted each time a leg of your teeth’s journey is completed. As with fixed braces, Invisalign braces will correct a variety of alignment issues and are very reliable.

The results of wearing Invisalign braces

You might have had braces fitted to correct protruding teeth, overcrowding problems, or bite issues, but what Invisalign can guarantee is that your teeth will be in a significantly more flattering position following treatment. You’ll know what your new smile will look like before your treatment has even begun thanks to 3D computer imaging, so for the duration of the braces-wearing period, you’ll know exactly what you’ll be looking forward to seeing when you step in front of the mirror.
